I see that BestBuy has a sale on the Creative5400 5.1 surround speaker system. I bought it for $100 last spring after reading some very positive reviews in ExtremeTech (ZDNet) and Tom's Hardware.

It's a pretty clean system, and the bass is decent down to about 40Hz. You can do a free in-store pickup and save on shipping.
