6.0 crashes on render

I am tring to do a simple 6 minute project of mostly stills and I always crash on render. I have a 2.4 ghz system with 4 mb of RAM running Windows xp - any advice?

What is the average size of the larger stills? And what type of pic?, (jpeg, ping, etc.)

Also, check for heat. Make sure your fans are working and your system does not have a buildup of dust inside.

And if you haven't already done so, check what background, Startup and services may be running. The less, the better.

I think that was my problem - I had one still that was 120 Meg - I resized it and no more crashes. What is the rule of thumb for the max size jpeg in Vegas?
