Can anyone confirm this 6.0c issue?
After installation of 6.0c update, the audio plug-ins that are part of XFX 3 Plug-in Pack (Amplitude Modulation, Distortion, Vibrato, Flange/Wah-Wah, Gapper/Snipper, Smooth/Enhance) are reverted to DEMO mode.
I've missed that one. Here too.
Amplitude Modulation, Distortion, Vibrato, Flange/Wah-Wah, Gapper/Snipper, Smooth/Enhance and Resonant Filter are in DEMO mode after update to 6.0c.
mangoo: can you check the status of XFX 3 plug-ins on your system?
I went to work on a mix and realized there was a subtle beeping and chirping all over it. Arghh!
It took me a while to find it was the Sony Flange plug-in that for some reason went into demo mode after the 6c update.
Screw it. I removed the offending plug-in from my project.
I really try not to use the Sony plug-ins at all anymore. Besides idiotic problems like this, there are just so much better plugins available. Even free ones.
mangoo:
I guess you've got also Sound Forge installed on the same machine, therefore your XFX 3 plugins are authorized by SF. Resonant Filter is not part of Sound Forge but Vegas only, so it's in DEMO mode after 6.0c update.
I'd like to hear from Sony about this issue. Is a fix coming soon?
I'm having the same issue with XFX 3 plugins as well as the Resonant Filter.
Sony's statement on the download pages imply that this is the result of a conflict of sony/sonic foundry programs installed on the same system.
However, I installed Vegas 6.0c on a completely clean system (drive reformatted, etc.) with no other Sony/Sonic Foundry programs installed, and the plugins were in DEMO mode from the get-go. After trying to make 6.0c work, I gave up, uninstalled it, cleaned the registry and installed 6.0a.
Problem Solved. (except that I am currently without the "fixes" and "enhancements" present in 6.0c).
Yes this is realy bad. I was going to mix down some music that i made on 6b and the beep beep started. resonant demo filter :( So now i cant mix down this track, thanks sony . And i dont whant to install the 6b again because of some bugs. Im just wondering how can u make this kind of problem slip thru. This is a BIG error i think.
No, that link is old and irrelevant to this issue. Vegas 6.0 works OK with unicode builds of audio plugins (all Vegas 6 audio plugins that are not in DEMO mode use unicode, as well as those running unfortunately in DEMO mode in 6.0c).
Just FYI, the last message I got from Sony Support is that they have been able to reproduce this bug and are currently working on a fix to make available for download.
Don't know how long it'll take for the fix to be released, but here's hoping it's before Vegas 7!
