60 Cycle Hum on wavs

I edit wavs with Audacity sound editor and hum is barely noticable at high volume. When I bring the file into VMS 60 cps hum is greatly increased. Anyone have any ideas on where to go with this?

I have experienced this when recording on my laptop. When I disconnect the power supply the noise dissapears.
I assume that you are talking about a desktop PC and then you might want to try one of those power conditioners on the market.
You might want to experiment by plugging the PC in to another wall jack and see if thta makes a difference.
