64 bit and 32 bit

So I create a project in Vegas 11 Pro 64 bit and save it to my drive.

Next day I open the project by going to Start/Vegas Pro 11 (64 Bit)/Recent/Projectname.veg

It opens in 32 Bit.

I know this because my Boris Continuum plugins are "missing". I installed them in the 64-bit version that I normally use.

Can I simply uninstall the 32 bit version to prevent that from happening? Anybody else experience this?

are you opening by clicking on the .veg or opening 64bit Vegas then browsing to the .veg?
If .veg files are associated with the 32bit version, that's what will open.

It's because you installed the 32-bit version last and it's the Windows default to use for opening a "VEG" file. You need to change it to the 64-bit version in windows. Or maybe just install the 64-bit version again.
