64 Second Film Contest

Well, I know this has been discussed previously, but I thought I'd bring it up again:

I entered the "64 Second Film Contest over at www.64seconds.com , and hope you guys will take a few minutes to click over and check out my submission, entitled "Beauty and the Geeks." My thumbnail pic shows a closeup of a goofy looking guy with glasses on, and mouth hanging open. There are a bunch of submissions, so you may have to click through several pages of thumbnails before you find mine.

If you like my film, I hope you'll give it your vote! To make it past the 1st round of the competition, I have be one of the top 28 films garnering the most positive votes, so I need as many "helpers" as I can get!

Edited competely in Vegas & shot in 24p. Original looks great, but the contest sponsers compressed the heck out of it before posting it on their site. Hope you can understand what's happening in the film. The theme is "waitlessness" (i.e. waiting less and doing more).

Thanks!
ATJ

ATJ,

Not to take over your thread, but I also submitted one. In the "Other" category. Mine is called "Float Thru Work".

Good luck to us both!

Yeah, good luck to you too Dave!

The voting system on the site sure seems odd - it looks like anyone can go and vote without logging in. That means the more "friends" you have, the better your chances are of making the first cut.

Hmmmm -- not exactly fair....

Anyone else on this forum enter a film for the contest?

I would have, but I just learned about it.

Looks like DSE is a judge, so you are a shoe in since you used Vegas. (right???)

Good Luck!

Looks like the votes are not being counted yet. My wife voted and I could see no change in the rating.

Maybe she did not vote for you.

Good one. Fortunately I watched her:) That's ok, she'll probably change it later.

Cool stuff on that site.
But it doesn't seem to work - unless, maybe, unless you "log on." I voted for a bunch of different ones and then had to leave the computer a while. When I came back, the videos were all in different orders and none of the ones I watched previously didn't remember my voting. That means that if it DID record my vote, I could vote many times.
I think.

jkrepner - yes, edited in Vegas. I don't exactly want to be a shoe-in... would be nice if voting was fair, but with the system they've set up it looks like anyone can go and vote multiple times (no login required)! Doesn't seem like a good system to me!

fldave - my rating wasn't showing up either until recently. Log in to your acct & you'll see your rating.

mjroddy - yeah the voting system makes no sense. I also noticed that there is no login, and that if you leave and come back you can vote again. Crazy - seems like it makes the first stage a "free for all" -- not based on talent.

By the way, an easy way to find films is to click on "Search Entries" and then type in the film name. For example, to find my film, type "Geeks."

Sorry to "bump" but I've discovered an easier way to see my film. If you click on the following link:

www.64seconds.com/?movie_id=182

...that should bring my film up directly. Title is "Beauty and the Geeks."

Feedback would be great!

Thanks,
