64bit vegas doesn't support latest catalyst driver

I gonna try to provide as much info as needed in order to help vegas's programmers fix this issue.

It seems that vegas pro 11 build "425" looses ATI GPU acceleration with catalyst drivers higher than 11.9.

I recently upgraded to ati catalyst to 11.10 and tried 11.11(a/b) and i can no longer render any videos using GPU acceleration. Vegas does detect my GPU under preference, but when i attempt to render my videos using Sony AVC/MVC (.mp4) custom settings "Check GPU" option it does not get detected. It says GPU not available!

Undrer MainConcept AVC/AAC (.mp4) it does detect my GPU but when i render with GPU acceleration turn on, it renders my entire video with just sound and a green screen... Sure i can use the option using CPU rendering only, but it is very time consuming to use CPU instead of GPU with 1080p source videos. It is also very difficult to uninstall catalyst drivers to revert back to 11.9. Catalyst 11.11b adds new improved features for other applications that use.

recap..
Vegas pro 11 (425) works fine under catalyst driver 11.9. Newer driver version (11.10 - 11.11b) renders vegas useless..

My hardware:
Asus P8Z68-V GEN 3 Mother Board
i7 2600k CPU
16gig Corsair Ram
Intel SSD Hard Drive.
ATI HD 6950/6970 Video Card (Cayman GPU)

Sony does not monitor this forum. If you found something that SCS needs to know, then post a bug report.

But First!

ATI updates their Catalyst drivers and it "breaks" Vegas, and this is Sony's fault, how?

It is no different when Apple updates Quicktime and it "breaks" Vegas. People want to blame Sony.

Still, SCS needs to know, via a bug report.

Yes it is true with ATI 11.11 installed it does disable GPU render I also get a crash when I try to render in mainconcept MP4. I did start a ticket with tech support I hope to here from them soon and I will report.

I am going to go back to 10.9 and see if that does make a change.
