8.0c and System administrator privileges

Full of expectation I downloaded the Vegas Pro 8.0c.

Have now tried to install without and with uninstalling the 8.0b first - but every time I get:

"Please make sure you have local system administrator privileges on this system.
Canceling the installation."

just after Vegas is "Extracting: help.cab"

On this machine I have one user only: The System Administrator.

It is probably a Windows XP error (have SP3 plus updates) - even if I just successfully un- and reinstalled 8.0b?? -
but have any of you had - and found a soloution for this?

I had exactly the same problem with the last update to DVDA.

Sony support told me to remove and reinstal everything with Sony's name on it, clean the Registry etc. - I didn't think that was it, and it wasn't.
It turned out that something had got corrupted copying the downloaded file from my internet computer to my editing machine. I made a fresh copy of the same download and this one worked. If you are dealing with a single machine, you could try a fresh download. Good luck.

Hi Peter,

Yes - that did it. Just downloaded again - as you said - and this time it installed without any problems.

Thank you -

Right now previewing my last creation in 8.0c :-))
