8.0c trimmer "Enable timeline overwrite"

Am I missing sth, or would it be a more logical behaviour to create another Take when in disabled (i.e. overlay rather than cut-off-&-insert) mode?

As it is, here's what we get:

- with "Enable timeline overwrite" on, the underlying portion of the target timeline is gone; logical enough

- with "Enable timeline overwrite" off, the underlying portion of the target timeline is preserved - so that when we move the inserted clip from the trimmer to another track, the original target track is intact. But that's the only advantage; I'd rather have Takes created to choose from!

Any comments welcome.

There's another advantage when creating crossfades:

Set the timeline cursor to the point of beginnig of desired crossfade. Add a second clip from trimmer and have "overwrite" deselected.

I like it the way it works now. Adding as a Take from the trimmer might be a third useful option (which actually is available by using the mouse) but I would not drop any of the choices it offers now.
