8.1 renders really slow here...

1 - source file is 1 minute of 1920x1080 30fps MOV file in the ftime line.

2 - rendering this to a 1920 x 1080 AVI file 30 fps progr.

Runnning 8.1 under Vista 64 this takes 26 minutes (!!!)
Runing 8.0c under Vista 64 this tales 2 minutes 50 sec.
Running 8.0c in XP32 this taked 2 minutes 45 sec.

I was under the impression that running 8.1 in Vista 64 bit (quad core and 8gb ram) should be *faster* - not 10 times slower.

A bug in 8.1? Any advice here?

hey larz, I could test and see if its the same over here, but I'd need the file to knowcfor sure.

Options -> Preferences -> Video Tab -> for dynamic RAM preview set to 5000 if you have 8GB installed.

This will leave some extra for OS and other processes while you render and won't slow down the speed any - you should show about 7166 available if you have 8GB installed, maybe less with Vista - I'm running XP64
