I am trying to find a nice soundcard to use with Vegas. It need to have at least 8 in and 6 out. I have tried the Presonus Firetation but cant get it to work. Maybe the asio driver support is only for output, because I can get sound out of vegas to the firestation, but not in. Have any one got the firestation to work with Vegas? If not Iam returning the firestation to the dealer because i just I love vegas.

Maybe ill try to find a pci based card. Any suggestions?

Hi Fyrsten.

I don't know what the rest of your set-up is like but if you can afford the Firestation, you can probably afford the MOTU 2408 (which is what I use).

It has 8 analogue ins and outs, 24 channels of ADAT, 24 channels of TDIF and S/PDIF in/out. Plus it can generate SMPTE and has Wordclock. It comes with PCI424 PCI card (if you get the core system) to which can be added up to three other 'Audiowire' (MOTU's own version of firewire) interfaces.

It works with bit rates up to 24 and sampling rates up to 96KHz. You can use the analogue in tandem with the digital (providing you have equipment with a digital interface) and the only drawback is that it doesn't provide a MIDI interface.

I think you sould take a look at RME...! http://www.rme-audio.com

Verrny nice cards ...! But the need D/A anmd A/D converters so here are some more options

Motu 2408 MK 2 www.motu.com

I think the best option is to use a card with Asio WDM drivers...! These are the best and the fastest.. The don't use the microsoft mapper..! (if you don't want to)

Did you call Presonus?

Dustin Braud helped me on the phone step by step getting the firestation up and running with Vegas 3. His info is on the their website. They have great support. I have not installed my upgrade to 4 yet.
