8c preview window..... ever neat!

In the older versions (as well as 8.1) the preview window resizes itself it 'JUMPS'. When you drag a corner (auto mode) the window gets bigger but the preview stays the same size until you hit the next jump. For example when my preview is at 360x270 it won't get bigger until the next jump, which on my machine is 720x540.

8c is truly re-sizable on a thoroughly variable scale. If I drag a corner not only does the window get bigger but the preview scales up to follow!

It's resizable this way (smooth, without jumps) since V7. You maybe missed a setting of the Preview window before.

Now if only we could have it full raster and scrollable, then we'd be cooking.

I guess if it did that then hovering the mouse over it and pressing the space bar should give you a hand cursor to move the image around.

Right-click the preview window and select "Scale video to fit preview window". This option enables the behavior you described.

I'd be happy with basic scroll bars, let's not ask for anything to sophisticated. Trying to use Vegas as a compositing app in 1080 when you need to be pixel perfect is a pain without this. Sure I could use a 24" second monitor but the desk space is a problem and then I'd like to have two monitors the same size.
Worse still sometimes I'm having to work in DCI 2K and the only monitors that'll do that are 30" and they need dual link DVI. Thankfully the app I run that in does have a scrollable full raster workspace.
Odd thing is DVDA has this, only found that a few days ago. Bravo to the guys who write DVDA, wish some of their thinking would travel south and rub off on SCS.

Been this way for two revs. Right click preview window and enable scaling.
You can also tear off monitor, double click Preview header bar, and get instant resizing between two point sizes.
