9.0a and AVCHD 60p files

Hey guys,

I haven't had a chance to sift through everyones responces about 9.0a yet, so I'll just come out and ask it:

Did the update fix the timeline/render issues with AVCHD 60p files? I'm referring to the strobing/stuttering effect that happens once you start messing with a clip. Most if not all of the HMC150 users know what I'm talking about. I haven't had a chance to test it yet and I'm getting ready to leave for work.

Thanks for any input.

Brad, I loaded up my "jittering golf swing" HMC150 AVCHD 60p footage and it seems ok in the 64 bit 9a. However, my experience in 9.0 has been that sometimes it would work ok, other times it would jitter. Anyone else tried 6op high profile AVCHD with 9a?

I loaded up a couple clips and messed with them very briefly and so far....ok. No jitter. Who knows for sure.

The only thing mentioned about AVCHD in the update was the memory addressing issue when rendering. Would it have been a memory issue on the timeline as well? *confused* If I can start working with the native files that would be fan-friggin-tastic. I do a lot of 60p work and get tired of creating intermediates.

WOW. So far so good!! Everything is working great right now. Working with the native .mts files 60p on the timeline and other than the start of a clip skipping a few frames.....it's not jittering, strobing, skipping etc. like it used to!

Kudos. I love Sony.
