9.0b - Clip Event Pan/Crop symbol update problem..

Christian de Godzinsky wrote on 9/7/2009, 12:50 PM
Hi,

Can anyone duplicate this:

1. Pick any video clip on your timeline
2. Click the event Pan/Crop symbol to open the pan/crop popup window.
3. Change the setting from default to something else
4. Close the window.

After returning to the timeline the small symbol does not update from white to green (meaning something else as the default pan/crop is selected) - unless you first click somewhere else on the timeline.

The same is true going back from a non-default pan/crop to the default. When closing the control popup the small symbol is still green (unless you click first somewhere else).

My opinion is that this is something new to 9.0b - and not intended. Some programmer has forgotten to update the control at the time the popup closes...

This is not a show stopper - but very annoying. You cannot be sure you really did an pan/crop at the moment you exit it's control...

If anyone else can repeat this I will issue an ticket. This should be corrected, even if it is a small (but annoying) bug...

Christian

Same for VP8c too, and most likely for previous versions too.

My thoughts? Until Vegas is "aware" of something had happened TO the Event, it wont register.

I wouldn't call this a "bug", but more of a "Product Request" in the making!

Tried it with 7d. The color changed green on the pan/crop symbol when the window was closed. The color changes green on the fx symbol as soon as it was aaded to the fx line even before the fx box was closed.

Using 9.0b on Windows XP SP3 the symbol changes to green in the moment I adjust something in the Pan/Crop workspace.

Maybe it depends on the selected Windows color theme.

Can’t repro it.
Works fine for me.

Using 9.0b 64 bit with Vista 64. For me, can't exactly duplicate. Symbol changes color immediately if you actually make a pan crop adjustment. If all you do is add a keyframe without actually doing a pan or crop adjustment, the symbol changes color only after you close the pan/crop window and click away from the event as you describe. FX symbol changes immediately even if FX levels are neutral.

I confirmed on 8.0c and 7.0d. Looks like it has been around for awhile.

I briefly looked for some obscure setting to change, but didn't find any. I also looked for a simple workaround, but failed to find one.

works fine here too 9b/win7/64. however, the green is more a tint rather than a colour! not very clear with just a casual glance....

It functions correctly with v7e + Vista 64.
