9d 64: no intermediate frames on timeline?

I do most of my editing on the timeline, as I'll stack up video, movie soundtrack and music to blend. In 9.0d, both 32 and 64 bit, I don't see intermediate video frames when I zoom in. Each event gets a frame at the beginning, a frame in the exact middle and a frame at the end. Clicking in between these visible frames shows the frame in the preview pane, but that's a hard way to edit.

Is there a viewing preference that I've missed?

You sure did :-)
This is one of many new "features" in Pro 9.
Options - Prefs - Video.
Change "Thumbnails to show in video events" from "Head, Center, Tail" to "All".

Wow, would you look at that! I suppose it would improve performance to only show a few thumbnails, but it makes frame by frame editing sort of tough.

Thanks very much!
