A BASIC GUIDE TO EDITING HDV WITH SONY SOFTWARE

In response to inquiries about a beginner's guide to editing with Sony software, and in an attempt to get a friend started with it long distance, I "slogged" through weeks of effort to write this guide, at -- http://www.donferrario.com/ruether/Sony-editing.htm. There is also a printable version. I welcome comments, criticisms, and suggestions. Thanks.

wow that is some great work. I started a video series on youtube about pro 9 to help people get started. It has been a rocky rock with all the bugs in 9.0 but it is coming along

Good luck with it! It was a challenge for me to balance the needs of a beginner with the desire to include enough information to make possible an interesting resulting video - and to organize the guide's information logically, and to write it in coherent English...;-)

yeah I understand I had to start from the basics in order to get people to understand. Several of my viewers did not like that but it is the way it has to be done to understand the program in full :)

A BASIC GUIDE TO EDITING HDV WITH SONY SOFTWARE (Update)

After MANY more weeks of toil, MANY rewrites, some corrections, and some additions (a numbered referenced program screen capture and a finished printable version of the guide are now included), I think (oh, I really do hope so...! 8^) that this guide for beginning video editors is finally complete. Comments, suggestions, and corrections are welcome. The guide is at -

But wait, there's more...8^) After about two months of work and MANY rewrites, corrections, modifications, additions, etc., the Guide really is now finally complete. It includes a numbered referenced screen capture, a printable version, a PDF copy, and numerous URLs for video guides, editing instructions, and video-making advice. It is at www.donferrario.com/ruether/Sony-editing.htm.
