A bug with Sony software in general?

Hey All,

I've had a problem arise lately (V7) where I hit PLAY and then nothing happens. Rate is displayed at 1.0, but the timeline cursor just sits there blinking. No rhym or reason to how it comes about or goes away.

So I have Sound forge (9) open when Vegas has this no-play going on and Sound Forge won't play either.

Anyone come across this before? Any ideas what might be causing it?

Thanks.

KH

KH - yes. I put this down to my speed of editing and experimenting with complex FX-ing. But, yes.

I'm going to keep an eye on this and log it's frequency of "activity".

Grazie

Often these types of problems can be traced to flaky sound card drivers.

I had a similar problem recently when editing a multicam project (just two cameras) shot with Sony HDD cameras.

Less than 1 fps playback, taking aeons to move the cursor from one place to another, just generally horribly slow.

I thought it must be because the video was MPEG2 format.

But in the end it turned out that I was short of space on the hard drive containing the video clips.

Once I'd made more room, the problem resolved itself.
