a DVD would not play in a standalone player

I receantly purchased Sony DVD Architect Studio 3.0. I
successfully created two simple DVDs and then I created a DVD with a fancy initial screen (several animated buttons, background music). The DVD plays just fine on my computer when using PowerDVD player but would not play properly on my DVD standalone player (the first two DVDs play just fine on it). By "not playing properly" I mean that it shows the initial screen but then it behaves weirdly and stops responding in a few seconds.

Not sure if this is important - I use the Architect Studio to prepare the
DVD but I burn it using Nero.

Could it be the DVD player or is it something wrong with the DVD ? The DVD player, while cheap, plays properly all other DVDs that I rent.

Thanks for any advice.

Probably the combination of a "bad" disc and that player.
Burned DVDs are generally not as reliable as commercial ones.. but if you stick to high quality media then generally they work fine. With less reliable media you will get more errors on the disc, or they are just harder to read - requires the player to have a more powerful laser. And here is where the player comes in, some players are better at handling errors or other problems (e.g. a disc which is hard to read) than others.

I doubt it is anything to do with burning with Nero... if anything people seem to have more problems buring directly with DVDA than Nero.
