A Failure Occurred In Capture - Vegas 9.0e

Hi All,

I've been running into the following error every time I try to capture from my camcorder in Vegas Pro 9.0e:

A failure occurred in Capture.
Parameter is not valid.

The detailed error message is as follows:

Sony.Capture.CaptureException: A failure occurred in Capture. ---> System.ArgumentException: Parameter is not valid.
at System.Drawing.Graphics.MeasureString(String text, Font font, SizeF layoutArea, StringFormat stringFormat)
at System.Drawing.Graphics.MeasureString(String text, Font font, SizeF layoutArea)
at System.Drawing.Graphics.MeasureString(String text, Font font)
at Sony.Capture.Controls.ControlHelpers.PreferredSize(Control cntl, String sz)
at Sony.Capture.Capture.InitStatDisplays()
at Sony.Capture.Capture.InitStatusBar()
at Sony.Capture.Capture.OnLoad(EventArgs args)
--- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Any ideas? I searched the forum (and the Web), but I couldn't come up with anything exactly the same. I uninstalled and reinstalled Vegas Pro 9.0e and the problem persists.

Thanks!

Are you capturing from Dv or HDV? Which Vegas capture program are you using? Are you capturing via firewire?

Sorry, I'm capturing HDV from a Canon Vixia HV30 camcorder via Firewire. I'm not sure what you mean by the Vegas capture program -- I didn't realize that there was more than one. I'm just using File - Capture Video - HDV or SDI option.

Look for the free program: "hdvsplit". It is a simple program that does only one thing, and it does it well with a lot less strain on the PC.
