"A horse with no name"

Just taking a break from a very time sensitive project that I'm cooking and a series of thoughts made their way into the very small place I call my brain.. One of which is, I wonder how much easier post production would be if Sony Vegas Pro 14 was released tomorrow? Why would I asked that'? Do I expect to take leave of my artistic inclinations and expect the software to make all the decisions? Is that what we all want? I have said it before and I'll say it again.. What else can a present day NLE do that it can't already do besides be stable and productive.. The rest will always be up to the editor.
What I have found is that Vegas Pro 13 will do just about anything you could possibly need in post production except keep your wife from bugging you when you are in the middle of a pivotal edit point..
Will another version be much different than what's available now?
I think if SCS revisited the current version with an eye on making it the best it can be, we will not be so obsessed with the next version.
Chances are if you ain't happy with the current version, maybe you / me have unrealistic expectations of software made for and used by human beings.

I wish I had a wife that bugged me (32 and still single) :-D.

Indeed there isn't anything yet that I miss in VP13.

I don't think that most are worried about missing another Vegas Version which they have to purchase (maybe those who have problem with current Vegas hoping for fixes).

I think it's more about Vegas being abandoned and not being supported or updated anymore (like Acid Pro).

Especially those who have a well running Vegas on their system, like me.
It would be great to know that Vegas will be kept running on Operating Systems which are being updated constantly.

life is like a pen*s - soft, hanging free - that is till some woman comes along and makes it hard ;-P

quite frankly i use a relatively small fraction of the power vegas has to offer, and have done so for release after release. i keep updating in the hope i'll get more stability, robustness and decent gpu performance. i have NEVER asked or looked for the gimmicks scs keep adding (eg. 3d), but am grateful they've always attempted to improve reliability.

13 is by far the best release of the 'modern' generation (counting from 7), and i hope that there is a 14. in the meantime i will watch catalyst's development - but it does have an awfully long road to travel to come anywhere near the functionality of 13.
