... a little OT but not much ; I'd like the "reverse" of "render image sequence" script...

(I tried on the Vegas Scripting forum too... here:)

Now, I just rendered a serie of images as PNG separate files to make some rotoscopy.

But before starting to sweat on it, I just tried to re-import the images in Vegas with different settings regarding time of each pic on the T/L in Prefs.
Indeed, I tried 0,033 and 0,034 sec. for each image with no crossfade but since it's "drop framed" at shooting, I guess it's the reason why it's not working. In fact, the script goes with "frames" scale, while in the Prefs, we have to go with "secs" and THAT is the problem...

Is there a script that exists that will bring back each image as a "one frame" image on the T / L ?
Or even better, that will pop up the same window as "render image sequence" script with the same options at importing so I can just choose according to what I've set at exporting?

I've searched this part of the forum; no success...

thanks

Don't sweat it man - just go to the media pool tab, and then click the import media icon. Go to the folder that has the numbered sequence of images, click the first one. Then at the bottom left corner of the box check the box that says "open still image sequence". It takes care of the length of each frame for you and is a single item in your media tab.

It's all good man - just have a blast with your rotoscoping and let Vegas take care of all your problems :)

Woo-hoooo !
I was back here to say I just found the "one frame from each event" script and that I was gonna try it but you already had this answer waiting for me...
Life is good sometimes...
Thanks a lot !

...mmm ... doesn't work... my computer may have a problem. I follow your instructions and I get this settings/prefs smaller window that pops up, everything all right (NTSC, 29,97fps, etc...) but when I click OK it doesn't make anything...

No prob bob, I was unaware until someone here told me about it, and now I try and make sure to get that open image sequence box out there as much as I can.

Ok, I got something: I have to drag, after, from media pool window to the T/L... I tweak my way of doing it now...
thanks again for the hint FrigND' !

I'm a little lost - did it work for you?

Should work a treat, I rendered a sequence out of TrueSpace and inported 200 frames into Vegas, beautiful. And to all of those who think Vegas is slow to render try rendering some serious high quality CGI stuff, 13 hours for 200 frames. Now I see why the film guys have render walls.

...walls ? ... hah... FARMS !!! Four *big* walls and a huge roof ! : )

... but I guess they're not rendering to 720x480...
