A new owner of vegas!! - help

I have been waiting to buy vegas movie studio platinum for a long time, but the cost was beyond my reach (doesn't mean it was too expensive) - atlast there was 50% sale and got my hands on it.

It does DVD's (home videos) very smoothly. I would appreciate if somebody can help me with the following:
1. how can I insert audio to the title/root menu? I can put templates but there is no audio. Can I insert mp3? how can I do it? any help?
2. how can I put date/time stamp on every frame automatically? Right now I capture video from DV as .avi, then I use DVtimestamp software to stamp all frames, and then import back into vegas to get my DVD done. Any help?
3. how can I add chapters/markers every 15 min automatically?
4. are there any other place (websites) to download more themes with audio?
5. Should it be installed on only one computer? my office computer is much more powerful and would like to use it there too. Can I install it there as well?

any help would much be appreciated.

1) In dvda, just drag the mp3 to the menu, and then set the 'end action' to 'loop'. You can also set the duration of the loop, it is default 30 secs long. Setting it longer will result in longer times to prepare and burn the dvd.
2) timestamps: There is a plug-in for this: under videxfx, look for 'Timecode'
3) Chapters: in Vegas, create 'Markers' hitting M each 15 minutes. DVDA will put chapters there.
4) on this very site, look for free downloads. If you have DVDA4.5, you already have all the themes. You can make themes yourself, of course.
5) You can run VMS on two computers, but you can/should only run one instance at a time. (this is stipulated in the licence agreement)

Thanks Ivan123,
That was great.
I was able to follow all except

1.automatically inserting 15 min increment chapters.

I had to scroll throughout the whole timeline and added one by one clicking on the timeline/frame and then 'M'. In movieedit pro (magix), it does automatically creater chapters at specified time intervals or dates. Doesn't vegas have that feature?

2. videxfx - i can't find that plugin. Googling doesn't help. Maybe I am dumb. Help please?

3. If I press the horizontal bar in the timeline window to scroll among frames, it increases the length (time) of frames meaning video length . How can I quickly scroll across frames? (also without using > arrow at the end)

1. No, Vegas doesn't have this. Sorry.

2. Video FX. They're already included in Vegas. There are a bunch of tabs across the screen (often at the bottom, but they might be across the middle) that say things like "Explorer, Trimmer, Project Media, Transitions, Video FX, Media Generators". Click on the Video FX tab. One of the included effects is Timecode.

3. Not sure if i'm following you. Scrolling will never change the contents of the timeline. However, that scroll button can also zoom. If you look closely you'll see that there are two tiny vertical lines at either end of it. If you click the mouse in the middle of the button it works like any other scroll bar. If you click outside those little lines then you will adjust the size of the button. Squishing the button smaller zooms in on the timeline and you'll see a smaller portion of the project, with the events looking longer on the screen, but only looking longer. They will still play for the same duration. Dragging the button out longer zooms out and you will see more of the project on the screen. The events will look shorter, but once again they still play for the same duration.

You can also zoom with the up and down arrows.

Thanks so much.

Hope there is a separate thread for feature requests. Automatic chapter creation will really be useful for people like me.

Program has a learning curve, hopefully I will get to master it someday.

At the top of the page click Support / Product Suggestion. I know a few of the ideas i've suggested have shown up in Vegas over the years.
