A newbie tries to use Vegas pro at high lvl

Hello,

I kind of want to punch above my weight and trying to do a cool gaming video with amazing effects. I have a bit of experience from around 2010-11 using Sony Vegas but even then it was a standard movie with just video+music+some very simple effects.

Now I started to learn a bit more and the first question is, which plugins do I need to achieve same or near enough effects as in the video below. The effects match the music and it looks quite interesting, even though the video has been made over 15 years ago or so. Is it too much for a guy who wants to learn but yet a newbie?

First of all, which plugins do I need? I have managed to get some, but I don't know if is enough.

The video

p.s. I also watched a few guide videos and saw this much of effects, I have the same plugin with the video creator, but I don't have same amount of effects in FX section as the video creator has

The second image with those effects are Boris FX Sapphire.

Have you seen the Vega Pro 23 video on their PAGE? All done in Vegas Pro.

Plugins cost money, and they've seemed to have gone up in price.... a lot.

I have Boris FX Continuum Complete 2026 which is an amazing kit that also includes Particle Illusion, transitions, FX, everything that I personally need.

My humble opinion: some creators think that being a "pro" at editing means stacking a lot of "cool" and flashy effects on the video in order to allegedly capture and amaze your audience. To me, being a "pro" means knowing so well how the base software works that you can do a lot of interesting and effective things with it, even without third party plugins.

An example, done just with VEGAS:

How it was made:

I think that it's also important to understand what VEGAS Pro is for, and when you are going to need a different software.

But if you want to go the "flashy route" , then as has been pointed out you are going to need to pay a a lot, or wait for some offer.

No way you can find them for free. They are pirated by you. Sorry, no further help from me.
