I check the Vegas Forum every couple of weeks and always see at least one anguished post from you, all in caps. Please pardon me for being presumptuous but might I suggest you acquire a Matrox X100 Pro? I suspect it offers most of the features you require and speaking from the perspective of one who owns and uses one, it really is a great bang for the buck. You get Composite/S-Video/DV in as DV or DVD compliant MPEG2, excellent colour correction tools, Adobe Encore (which blows DVD-A away), Adobe Audition (formerly known as Cakewalk) and the new and greatly improved Premiere Pro 7.0. X100 Pro's only limitation is you must use XP, which ain't all that bad.
Please at least look into the Matrox X100 as a solution because you will then be able to focus on productive things such as editing and soliciting business, instead of spending an inordinate amount of time writing posts slamming Sony
and making yourself an object of ridicule.
