A question about Sony's music that is for sale

InspireYourSoul wrote on 10/31/2010, 2:28 PM
My question doesn't belong in any of the listed forums so I'm posting it here, hopefully someone will be able to help me with it.

There are some music collections for sale on the Sony Online Store, such as for example:

Sounds of Asia: Opium
Synthetic Sound Effects: Twisted Reality
Sony Pictures Sound Effects Series Volumes

http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/buy/content

and many more.

My question is if the copyrights are included in the price you pay for it?
So if I buy it and would like to make a video for someone (for personal use), such as for example a video of a marriage let's say, then I can use it legally meaning I've bought the copyrights with the product?

Thank you for your time.

There is a link on each product page for every type of Sony media content you may be interested in, that will take you directly to the licensing agreement.

That being said, one does not "buy a copyright." With your purchase, you will acquire a limited end-user licensing agreement. There are very few end-use restrictions, but the license agreement should be read and understood.

Feel free to contact customer service if you have additional licensing questions. Unfortunately, these software forums are not the best place to ask, except the Acid forum members are more knowledgeable about the loop packages.
