A tip for developers of Vegas

Hi!

This feature would be nice: one could attach a short text note to audio/video clip representation on timeline and this note would appear as a tool-tip when mouseover a clip. This would make much easier to identify clips (especially audio) without playing. I can imagine this "Add notes" feature appearing in right-click menu.

best regards,
Panu

If I'm understanding your request correctly, this feature is already in Vegas. Here's how to do it.

-Add text information to the timeline.
1. Drop a marker on the timeline by pressing the "m" key
2. Right click on the marker and select Rename.
3. Type in your text information

-Add text to an Event
1. Goto OPTIONS>PREFERENCES>GENERAL
2. Make sure the option "show active take name in event" is checked.
3.Hit "OK"
At this point Vegas will show the media file name on the event. If you want to change this name goto the next steps.
4. Right Click on the event, and select "Properties".
5. Type in the Text information in the "Active Take Name" field.
6. Hit "ok"

Good call Red,

Being able to click on an event and hit F2 to rename the active take name would be a great way of improving this feature.
