OK, I've just finished my first project with VF. I'm using the Pinnacle Studio MJPEG card to capture the video (don't have DV yet). I then de-interlaced using VirtualDub. These clips look and play great in VF.
I made MPEG-1, RealVideo and WinMedia versions which all played great (no A/V sync problems).
However, to go back to tape I must make an avi using the Pinnacle MJPEG codec. When I do, the audio on the avi becomes noticeably out of sync with the video after about 30 seconds. If I were to pause the playback of the video and restart it, the audio and video sync up. But it lasts for only about 30 seconds.
I experimented with changing the timecode on the clips from "timecode in file" to "SMPTE Drop", but this seemed to make the sync of the rendered file worse.
Has anyone gotten VF to work with Pinnacle's MJPEG card?
Could I expect that going to DV would solve the problem?
Thanks,
