Did you find a solution to this?

I get the error on all my MP4 and MOV files, even old ones that I used in previous versions of Vegas without any problem.

The solution is to uninstall QuickTime 7.6.4 and find and install QuickTime 7.6.2
You'll have to do a search for it but it is out there.

Pisses me off. Contacted both Apple and Sony, and neither of them would even show the courtesy of a reply. Total BULLSHIT.

Does Premier Pro have this issue?

Hey, this is not Sony's issue. Apple has been monkeying with the code since 7.14 and it's caused lots of problems. Hardly a reason to expect Sony to rush out a new suite of updates every time Apple issues an update of its own.

You are right to contact Apple about this. However, I'm fairly certain they are under no contract to make their codecs work in Sony apps. The might have even broken it on purpose (Ya' think?). Also, Apple's Customer Care response regarding free applications is about zero. Maybe you'll want to post in their forum (minus the expletives) and see what kind of discussion you get on this.

EDIT: Oh, I see you already did ...
Hundreds of posts over there already on this.
