AAC or MP3 audio codec for QT

We usually render out many QuickTime(QT) .movs for our clients to show them progress on projects. These QT's have to be played on many and varied client computers so we have to make them as compatible as possible. These are emailed/ftp'd to them for download and hence we usually need to keep file size down.
To do this we use Sorenson3 image codec with a (hopefully)decent sound codec. This is our problem - sound quality.
To get small file sizes we can't use uncompressed sound. So far we are using the codec within Vegas - IMA 3:1 - but this sounds pretty horrible. The other codecs aren't that universal.(clients complain)
Ideally we would like to use MP3 or AAC sound within a QT that comes out of Vegas, but this we can only do outside of Vegas using QT Pro.- painful extra step when we are pressed for time.
Anyone know how to get MP3 or AAC audio imbeded within QT's made from within Vegas?????
Or is this a SONY vs APPLE etc issue?

Maybe I'm wrong but I think this won't work with any NLE. Not even my FCE allows MP3 embedded in Quicktime when exporting a project. The only way to do this I am aware of is what you already mentioned - using QuicktimePlayerPro.

You can do it with Compressor in the Final Cut Suite. I use this for my PC products. Same deal, Sorenson 3 and AAC. I sure wish Vegas exposed all the options available for packing into .mov.
