About render

So I've wondered something. My specs are listed below on my signature, this is being exported onto an NVMe, I know effects are heavy and they make the render take longer but why is it that it takes this long when I add so many effects but yet my components being utilized aren't even being completely utilized??

What version and buildnumber do you use here?
Which (customized ?) rendertemplate did you choose?

I've already gotten through all the nicks and pieces of presets, regardless of any changes I do to anything my utilization is never completely at max or at least at 80%

Either way I have Vegas 20

My render preset is as best as I can put it at without glitching from maxing the bitrate out or making it a mess by lowering quality or messing with color.

Your render settings look fine. I assume that matches the project settings?

You can try one or both benchmarks in my signature to see if your system is behaving worse or differently than others with similar hardware.

My guess is that one or more Fx you are using aren't fully optimized for GPU use in VEGAS and are the bottleneck. The GPU seems to be working normally but see the big gaps between when it encodes frames.

So alternatively my 13900k alone would be a better render option than with the help of my 4060 Ti with certain Boris FX or Red Universe effects is what you're saying?

I am more saying that while the GPU needs high utilization VEGAS isn't working efficiently with these Fx and the GPU for some reason. The CPU ends up having to do it and even a very fast CPU like yours is rather slow for certain tasks. I'd expect GPU utilization to continue to get better in VEGAS. We're in the early days of a revamped video engine.

(As an aside, for AI programs that I use my 13600K is ~10x slower than CUDA with my 2080 Super. Optimization is really important!)

Yea that sounds about right. Was hoping to use my resources to max utilization so I could get a much faster render time.

If a native VEGAS Fx exists for what you want to do, I'd use them as many (most?) of them are GPU-enabled at this time.

Red Giant hasn't existed for years so older Fx may not do much with new GPUs. Boris I have no experience with. Maybe toggle the Fx off one by one and render the same portion of the timeline to see which one or ones are killing the render time.
