About to smash my KEYBOARD! help...

I have been using vegas pretty successfully for the past 4 months untill now.
I produce a tv show here in Hawaii and I break the show apart into 7 segments. (intro, break1, main2, break2, main3, break3, closing)
I do this so when I "print to tape" I can easily change the breaks or reuse them with minor changes.

As of this morning I had to change one of my commercials (:30) so I opened my break2.veg file, made the changes and RENDER. Upon placing it into the playlist to print to tape there are stutters and audio drop outs, etc. Nothing else has drop outs except for my new breaks.

I'm so stressed as I have clients grumbling now and I need to get the show fix or it will get pulled and a rerun put in its place.
HELP! IDEAS? SUGGESTIONS? Time for Final Cut Pro? (gawd.. jk...)

Is the new commercial in the correct format to start (audio wise)? Maybe for some reason it' s not 48khz audio. Also, try popping the commercial in it's own project file and see if it plays back fine.

Hard drive defragged? Just wondering.
