I'm at the early stages of purchasing a new PC for Vegas for personal/recreational use. Anyone have experience with ABS and specifically the Awesome 5500?
So far I like what I see from ABS. All standard parts and decent prices.
No experience with this particular model, but I have an "older" PC that was purchased from ABS. Was very impressed with the documentation provided with the system, in a large binder with plastic sleeves/protectors.
It suffered a motherboard or processor failure (both were replaced) about halfway through the (then) 3 year warranty period. ABS took care of it promptly, even replacing the processor with a faster one.
I'd buy from them again.
Conflicting reports are sure to arrive any minute.
My cousin bought computers from ABS for his business and even visited the factory. He was very impressed and raved about them. I’ve looked at their computers on-line and they are built from industry standard parts which means you can upgrade them very easily (unlike Dell). I would have no problem buying a computer from them if I didn’t build my own. In fact, the PC I built is very close to what ABS is selling.
