Who'd you buy them from?
I've found Printzone about the cheapest in Oz.

I decided to give Inkman a try Bob - less than a third of normal Canon prices.

I'll keep Printzone in mind next time, once I've checked out the quality.

I buy genuine Epson cartridges from Printzone at a bit less than anywhere else. Over the years like everyone else I've tried a variety of 3rd party cartridges and never been entirely happy with them so I stick to the genuine article.Same goes for toner for the laser. Bought one recycled one and it was a disaster, never again.

Old $dayjob used to recycle cartridges at a local mom&pop shop. They were ok for things like work orders, shipping paperwork, stock forms, and the like. They looked pretty bad for business-to-business documents and were a disaster for graphics and barcodes.

Recently i took OfficeMax up on their refilling service. The quality was ok, almost as good as the original, but i only got about 1/3 as much printing out of it for 60% of the price of a new cartridge.

I've been shopping ebay now and can often find folks selling genuine OEM cartridges for about the same or slightly less than the cost of refills, so i'm sticking with genuine from now on. I'll still send the empties back to HP for recycling though.
