AC-3 ??

On Sony Tech Answ ID it states that you should use separate audio & video rendering.
Specifying using "Dolby Digital AC-3" as save as "type"

This does not exist as an option for me in VMS 9.0

Secondly I searched on support and found quote that says AC-3 is only supported in VMS Platinum ???

If that is the case (and I would like to be wrong) which should select under Save as "type" to get PCM stereo.

my options do not list PCM .... I know that .wav is uncompressed PCM, so I could select "WAVE microsoft .wav"

If I use that, is is compatible with standalone DVD players ? just thinking about compatibility of DVDs

If DVD ARchitect is properly installed, then AC3 should show up in the Render As dialog of Vegas.

As Osprey says, I don't think it is supported in his version. He has DVDA installed (information from another forum).

Yes, if you don't have AC3 then simply render to Microsoft Wave (.wav) format and DVD arch will repackage this as PCM audio when it creates the DVD -- playable on all DVD players. Wave and PCM are basically the same thing.
