ac3/5.1 Render Speed??

Is it normal for a Vegas 7 project with two audio tracks, both 5.1, to take over 15 times real time to render as ac3/5.1??

We are aware of this also, and it'll be fixed in the next update (pls don't ask for a date- it'll be "soon").
