AC3 problem with both Movie Studios 16.0 Platinum and 17.0 Platinum

I have asked this question before. AUDIO WILL NOT RENDER. I was previously using Ver. 16.0 and have just tried Ver. 17.0. The audio will still not render with Ver 17.0. After the vision (photos and videos) render the following message is received - An error occurred while creating the media file Adnum weekend. ac3. The requested plug-in does the necessary features unlocked. - I am using a newly puchased Dell computer. I am unable to provide specifications. I should add that before the error message appears, the window with the message regarding render of Adnum weekend Ac3 appears briefly. This did not happen with Ver 16.0.

Previously, using Ver 16.0 I received the following messages after the vision rendered - The selected encode format requires the download of an add-on software module the first time the format is used. If you wish to proceed, ensure you PC is connected to the internet, then click "Yes". After clicking "Yes" the second message appears - Operational error - Installation failed, code: 1. On some systems this problem can be avoided by starting the application with the Windows "Run as Administrator" option then rendering the project again. After the component has downloaded successfully, the application can be closed and restarted normally, without the "Run as Administrator" option.

I have tried the above several times, have had the help of people more IT savvy than me but still the problem persists.

I firmly believe there is something with my new computer that is not compatible with the Movie Studio product. I previously successfully rendered the project in question on the old computer including the audio.

Could it be the Bit 32 or 64 thing OR something to do with the sound cards???

Thank you

Tony Adnum

@Tony-Adnum I've changed your title to better reflect your problem.

I have both VMS 16 & 17 Platinum versions and am wondering if I will have the same problem when I get a new pc and go to install them and render ac3 audio. I'm also wondering about DVDA7.

You are probably aware that Magix like several software producers no longer license Dolby ac3 but instead use Windows components for ac3 stereo (there's no provision for ac3- 5 channel). I wonder if this is the cause of your problem. But first check you have the last build of both programmes. It was build 175 for VMS16Plat and build 223 for VMS17Plat.

Thank you EricLNZ. I am convinced it is just a problem with the new computer and something not being compatible with Movie Studio. I had a project that I rendered on my old PC which worked fine. The only thing I did before trying to render it on the new PC was to change one photograph. Unfortunately I am not smart enough to read specifications/requirements for the Movie Studio programme and what is available on the new PC. The only reason I purchased the new PC was because I downloaded Windows 11 which sent everything haywire.
