Academic reseller shipping electronically and internationally

Does anyone know of an academic reseller that is willing and allowed to ship Vegas 4 electronically (e-mailing serial number) internationally (to Sweden)???

I have tried venturaes.com and journeyed.com
Ventura were very helpful and a friend and I placed an order for 2 licenses at $166.95. But then Venturas bank was unable to verify the address information on my Swedish credit card (though I've had no problem on other US sites, I should mention). The solutions we could find were to wire the money with a $40 fee or send an international money order with a $35 fee.

Journeyed offered Vegas for $149.98 though they never answered my question on wether they could ship electronically. After placing the order there was a very confusing e-mail conversation were they repeatedly claimed they could only ship one license to each student, although I had e-mailed two student IDs. It finally turned out they could not ship electronically nor ship two licenses to the same shipping address. This means another $30 shipping fee on each license.

Since we are hobbyists with a very limited budget, we might have to settle for VideoFactory if we can not find Vegas for less than about $175.

But of course we really, really want Vegas. So can anyone give us any tips on where to make our dreams come true?

Try http://www.planetmicro.com/ in Canada.

I have been in contact with planetmicro.com and they claim they are not allowed to ship outside North America. The same goes for needsoftware.com. I have also tried contacting cs-software.com (twice) but they didn't answer my e-mail, which is never a good sign.

I have also seen a company calling themselves Atlaz International on e-Bay. When contacting them they didn't give a very professional impression. Does anyone have any experience with them?

mattiasj,

Our dealer in Sweden should be able to assist you with this purchase. Just ask them for a release as ESD (Electronic Software Download) and they should be able to satisfy your request right away.

Studentlitteratur Software AB
www.studentlitteratur.se
Akergranden 1
Lund, S-221 00
Sweden
Phone: [46] 46 31 22 22
Fax: [46] 46 30 53 39

As a further note, Ataz is a legitimate dealer of our software, both ESD and packaged.

The problem with Studentlitteratur is that academic price is around $245 + 25% VAT (that is over 300 USD). In that case I might just as well buy the full version from your online store (if my budget would allow it).

I have one suggestion to you guys at SoFo.

I had exactly the same problem as mattiasj. i really wanted to buy the Vegas 3 only, but i was unable to buy it anywhere. Even here in Singapore it was hard to find one that had a nice price, until i found a company that sold the whole bundle of Vegas3, Acid 4, and SF6 all for about S$699, which is about $135 for each program.

Ok here it goes, student is student it doesnt matter where you go in the world, it doesnt matter if you are living in a rich or poor country, students are meant to be poor. Just like me.

My suggestion to SoFo, is to put a price-cap on the academic version, Say that if you discover that a company sell your software for more then US$180 you should not provide the software to that company, i think its EVIL that companies lives on poor student. But i think i was VERY lucky that came across the company her ein Singapore, no doubt about it :)

The price difference is ridiculous. We have to pay US$100 more for Vegas 4 in Sweden compared to Vegas+DVD at planetmicro.com. Are they really forbidden to sell to international customers? I've bought at lot of software from other US and Canadian vendors, no one has complained about taking my money.

You might try http://www.rsvp.ca, I know they sell to Sweden, but I don't know the academic pricing.
