I have vegas movie 7 platinum, wanting to up grade to vegas pro 8
There is a Academic version that I am eliglbe for. What is the difference between it and regular version? Anyone know?
I don't know the answer to your question, but I suspect you get the same software under the academic license. You could look here to see if you find what you want to know.
I've bought Academic versions of software years ago (when I was eligible). I believe the only difference is that the Academic version doesn't come with a printed manual as you are expected to buy a manual of some sort for the course you are taking. But...... I've been wrong before (once in 1987, I think :)
Thanks Guys
I'm a working/student, (doing video on the side for fun) Just trying to save a little money. I just didn't want to buy software that was going to be limited in functons. I can't really find where it says it is, but
no where does it say it isn't. hummmm.
Thanks for your answers
BTW , I'm finding this forum is better than any manual I could ever own!
Thanks again
The general wisdom espoused in this forum is that the only difference between the commercial and academic versions is the price. There appear to be no limitations at all.
It has been mentioned that perhaps the academic license forbids commercial use, but so far no one has produced a quote from the academic license that specifically states this.
If you're really curious i suppose a quick email to SONY's customer support would be in order.
