I was just visiting the ATI website forums and discovered an interesting topic:

In a nutshell, the release notes say:
- Accelerated encoding to MPEG-2 format with MPEG-2 video and LPCM or MPEG-1 layer 2 audio formats.
This is a beta release, meaning it is a test release. AMD is looking for feedback from real users. However, some users in that forum stated that it only works with computers with AMD CPUs. My computer has an Intel CPU, so I can't try it out; I don't know if it will also work with VMSHDP10.
Anyone that has a computer with an AMD CPU, an ATI GPU graphics card, and Vegas Movie Studio 9 (and maybe 10) and doesn't mind being a guinea pig might want to try it out. Maybe there is hope for GPU accelerated rendering with Vegas Movie Studio for us ATI graphics card owners, afterall!
