You cannot set frame-accurate chapter points because Mpeg2 uses I frames as a references. Normally these are set to occur every 15 frames (in NTSC) so your accuracy is -+ 1/2 second.

I reported this exact same problem in a recent thread:

Chapter location in final DVD doesn't match DVDA location

It is identical to the problem you are having. I also sent this as a bug report to Sony, and I encourage you to do the same by clicking on "Support" at the top of this page and then selecting "Email Support."

Sony is trying to recreate this problem and they need a burned DVD that exhibits the problem, along with the original project files. Unfortunately, I "fixed" the problem by going back and moving the chapter points by 1-2 seconds until the problem went away, and then deleted all the files. I have been unable to recreate the problem (so far) with my latest projects.

So, if you have something that is broken, and you can send it to Sony, they seem very eager to look at it.

Gary,

I believe that it is possible to set frame accurate chapter points in DVDA but it requires an mpeg2 analyser to find the timecode of the appropriate I frames.

Already deleted the project and made individual files for each of the buttons ,had a deadline .
(+-) .5 sec tolerance , is this also true if I bring in an AVI and let DVDA do the render or just with existing mpeg.

thanks guys for the info.
