Action Tracking

So, I'll explain what I'm looking to do. Hopefully someone can tell me if its possible.

I want to take wide angle 4k video of a hockey game. Place the camera in the middle of the rink, so it doesn't move but captures from net to net.

Then, I'm looking put that video into Vegas Movie Studio (or whatever software) and crop the video to 1/3 of the width.

I'm hoping there's a way to use motion tracking or something, to automatically track the action, back and forth. (Moving that 1/3'd crop back and forth)

I know the new resolution of the cropped video will not be 4k after being cropped, but that's ok.

Hopefully I explained that ok??

AFAIK you have to do it by hand in VMS with the Pan/Crop function and a lot of keyframes. For automatic trackmotion you have yo use one of the latest Vegas Pro versions

The only version you can buy ai the owner is version 19, which you can use as a trial version for 30 days. The only limitation iin the trial is that it is only possible to render a portion to a limited time. Look here.
