What do you mean by activating? Do you mean adding a keyframe? Position the cursor on the keyframes timeline and click on the 'Add Keyframe' button. Or, just change the controls once the cursor is in place and a new keyframe will be generated automatically.

The keyframes timeline itself should always be there... can't think why it wouldn't be, sorry.

slacy,

I'm betting your window just needs a resizing -- just pull at the lower right corner and you'll see your keyframe tracks appear.

Resizing the fx plugin window has no effect on the keyframes timeline - you really can't get rid of it! You can change the division bar which makes it smaller and can hide some of the keyframe timeline tracks (eg if you have mulitple plugs) but you still can't hide the whole thing.

Actually you can make it hidden. Just place your cursor above the keyframe area and you will see your cursor change to one with an up and down arrow. Drag down and away it goes.

That's what it was. I couldn't see the division bar, so I didn't know to drag it. Problem solved. Thanks to all.

Slacy place your cursor on the bottom of the window and position it until you see small up and down arrows with two horizontal lines in between, not just up and down arrows. Then drag up.

Ahh I see - I was playing in Vegas 3, where you can't hide them. Vegas 4 lets you hide them. Glad you got it sorted.

Also, a double-click on the splitter will quickly hide/unhide the keyframe area.
