Activation failed "An online connection couldn't be established."

I installed DVD Architect 7 along with Vegas MS Plat 14. All went well including activation & registration. While working with the Make Disc / BluRay with Menu option in Vegas it returned the msg "DVDARC not installed." But it was installed (other Make Disc options worked OK.)
Online search revealed an updated version Bld 67 available to download to replace v7 Bld 54. Once installed, it brought up the Activation box with the Serial # and email address already in the prompt fields. However getting past that fails, after attempting numerous times, with or without the Firewall active, to establish an online connection. (I am certainly online as I write this on the same laptop PC.) There's no reason for this error message as I do have a good connection and all other apps have no issue.
The PC is a Dell Inspiron 17-5000 running Windows 10. The earlier version of DVD Arch had no issue with the internet connection.

Have you also got the latest build (Build 148) of Movie Studio installed?

I have Vegas Mov Studio 14 Platinum (2017) installed from the original disc (not DL). The Build # is 91. Where do I get Build 148? And how will installing/updating VMS14.148 effect DVD Arch 7 and its problem with connecting to the Internet?

After having reviewed the feedback forums on the updated builds of VMSP 14 I'm reluctant to update my current version. Seems many ppl have issues with the latest version; seems to create more problems than it solves.
My issue isn't with the Editor app, it's with the DVD/BD Burner app - specifically not being able to make an internet connection while trying to register & activate the newest revision Bld 67. I don't see how that's related to VMSP14 at all - it's not even launched when I open DVD Architect. I'd rather not mess with my install of Movie Studio 14 in trying to fix a problem with DVD Architect 7.

Let me clarify: It's not that my register key won't be recognized or accepted. I do not get an error message saying "invalid reg key" - I can't even get that far. It stalls at the point of accessing the Web to upload the reg key. It thinks I don't have a live internet connection. Is it possible to import a small JPG image file here of a screen cap showing the problem? Also, could the fact it's a wireless connection thru a router (not via direct cable port) be a factor? Although there were no problems in registering or activating the 3 apps that come on the DVD-ROM.

I did in fact find a solution myself. It was a matter of disabling the Kaspersky security software and enabling only Windows built-in Defender firewall, and making some changes to the list of apps and services allowed to get thru the firewall and security parameters. Only then was the activation key# dialog box able to connect to the WiFi.
Thank god I didn't follow Cornico's convoluted and unnecessary procedures, it would've cause more problems for nothing.

Thank you for posting the latest update. Glad to know the exact issue. Useful info towards other users' activation issue.
