I think this HDV workflow should be the same for AVCHD, although you may have to adjust the numbers which were calculated for 1440x1080 at 1.333 PAR. I think AVCHD is 1920x1080 and PAR 1.000, yes? If so, just change the math presented in that post and use those numbers.
