ADATs & "JLP" - Red you were right.

Red: I stand corrected about the A/D converters used in "Jagged Little Pill." They were in fact the blackface A/D converters - completely stock. You were also correct in that they used a fantastic front end which included Ballard's favorite C-1 which he said was "older than I am." Alanis blew it up during the sessions and it sounded so good on her that they held up the recording till it was repaired. What I also love about the record is that they never went over 20 tracks on any song. Some were only 10 or so. Amazing what can be done with great talent on both sides of the glass! ;-)

Glad to hear some of my memory is still working in my aging years. I scare myself sometimes with this useless knowledge I sometimes retain in the wee corners of this noggin.

Well I'm on the downside of 50 and given all the "experimental" activities I endulged in during the '60s and '70s, I'm absolutely amazed that I have any memory left at all! ;-D
