I have Vegas Movie Studio 17. I have been using this product for years but when I add an audio track today, it sounds like a thousand cats scratching a chalkboard at the same time.
1st thread - already read it. The prompt to delete cache never happens. I do get a nice advertisement upon startup to upgrade. Can't we just delete cache the old fashioned way by removing files?
Operating system is Windows 10 21H1 build 19043.985 and it happens on any media file I try to use. I could send gigabytes of examples. Not sure why one matters
Hmmm ... the vey first thing you should see after Cntrl+Shift+Double Click on the desktop icon should be something like this:
If you don't see it close VMS and retry straight away. Deleting Cache is only part of the process .... in conjunction with the reset. An dthe Media info files help members understand what codecs and settings are in the file. Are all you're source files the same format?
I'm off line for the rest of the day and will check back in this evening (Australia time), but hopefully you'll get some suggestions as Europe wakes up.
I think this has to do with MP3 files. I was able to convert a couple of problematic files to M4A and Vegas seemed to be pacified. I could be wrong but that is what I know and have tried right about now..
@Raymond-Borbon How are you starting your reset? It needs to be done from a Desktop icon not Windows Start Menu as the latter doesn't work for this due to the nature of Windows.
Go to your VMS17 exe file as below. Right click to create a shortcut. Move the Shortcut to your desktop and activate the reset procedure from it.
@Raymond-Borbon You need to press Ctrl+Shift and hold them down whilst double-clicking on the desktop icon. Keep holding them down until you get the reset dialog as shown in @Robbie's comment.
