Add .mp4 media with multi channel audio error - the number of channels

When trying to add .mp4 videos with audio that has more than 2 channels of audio, I receive an error message about the number of channels and the only way I could pin this down was to go through my gaming clips and compare them in Media Info

I can only assume that when I updated the Radeon driver, ReLive set the recording audio to Auto, which is the default. Changing ReLive back to stereo fixes the problem and allows me to edit the video in Vegas Platinum 16.(ver 142 trial version)

However, my question is: why is multi-channel audio not supported by Vegas or am I missing something?

I'm trialling 16, having been using 13 for a number of years. I'm hoping to buy 16, mainly due to HEVC support, but I'm a little disappointed about the lack of multi-channel audio support.

Many thanks.

Only certain types of multichannel audio are supported in the Studio version, such as XDCAM EX. More are supported in the Pro version.

Thanks for your reply, Marco

I hope this thread is useful to others who receive this error, as it's not immediately clear from the message what actually causes it, so I had to go through each video file with Media Info to spot the differences. i.e. audio channel number.
