added an effect to a audio clip

I record let say a vocal. I hit apply non real time event and then select reverb.
I hit add then I save it and it applies the effect. In my media section I get two seperate files, one plain vocal and one with reverb. If I go back to add another effect let say delay it says the vocal has no plug-ins in chain eventhough I have reverb on it. How can I get my effects to apply like the video fx do in a chain like way?

Don't use non-realtime effects if you can help it. Use the little green button. Non-realtime effect destructively add the effect, which is why you get two files. Sometimes it's better to use non-realtime though, if you have a slow processor or you are doing something like pitch shift etc.
