Added audio track plays like slow motion

I record (add audio track) voice audio / sound using Vegas pro 8 and when I play it back it sounds like it is playing in slow motion, what is with that ?

Probably the audio card's sampling rate does not match up.
This can happen when more than one program is open at the same time.
