Adding a Veg file to another Veg file

I am working on a family history interview that is about 3 hours long. I have it in 4 Veg files, and I was going to combine them. When I add the second Veg file to the first, it renders and drops in video, pictures and titles as one media track.

Is there any way for the Veg file not to render but to drop in just as it is with everything separate?

Hope I am making sense....thank you, Tara

I found that I can open multiple files at the same time and copy one file and add it to the other, and everything is just liked I had it in the copied file. So that works, but if there is another way I should be doing it, please let me know. Thanks again, Tara

Starting in Vegas 6, you can drop VEG files directly onto the timeline. They are treated just like rendered media, even though they have not yet been rendered. It is a major feature that lets you do your work in small segments, just like you are already doing -- and just like everyone should work on large projects -- and then render them all as a single unified entity.

O.K. thank you.....so you make sure each separte file is ready to render....then you combine them all into one to render together.

That sounds good. I was trying to do it the way I posted the second time, and it just wasn't working out so well.
